Dr Sue Sutton

  • 1996 to date honorary archivist HMC
  • 1990 to date historical research consultant Singapore National Archives, working in both London and Singapore. Researching into the hisory of Singapore in UK archives, idenifying relevant documents, consulting the documents, writing synopses and organising digital and microfilm copies.
  • 1985 to date accredited researcher U.K. National Archives.
  • 1970-1985 historical research consultant Virginia Colonial Reords project working in the U.K. and, briefly, in Virginia, USA. Similar duties as for the Singapore National Archives.
  • 1972 and 1976 co-authored a series of books of documents and comment on the Discovery and Exploration of North America. 1972 PhD University of Liverpool 'The Trade of the Virginia Colony, 1606-1660'
  • 1970 MA in American Colonial History, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia 1968 BA Hons {2i) History University of Liverpool.

The Archives:

The HM Centre archives are a collection mainly of the papers of missionaries from the 19th and 20th centuries, with an emphasis on work in India and Africa. Of particular importance are the papers of Dr Joe Church, pioneer of the East African Revival.
